Tech-Sensei.com started in 2019 as a single observation: every tech-curious adult needs a Sensei. Someone who tested the tools, made the mistakes, and can tell you in plain language what works and what doesn't.

Six years and 4,528 reviews later, Tech Sensei has become exactly that: a place where tech-curious adults find independent tech reviews, bilingual EN+IT, written by humans who actually use the tools they recommend.

We're part of the CreatorBuddy ecosystem and a sibling brand of project-eva.ai. Independent ownership: no VC, no corporate parent, no advertiser pressure.

Origin story

Why Tech Sensei exists

In 2019, V (Valerio Diaco, founder) noticed a recurring pattern. Friends, family, clients kept asking the same questions: "Which VPN should I get? Which password manager is safe? Is this email a scam?"

The available answers were either oversimplified ("just use Norton") or technically dense and intimidating ("you need to configure a self-hosted Vaultwarden instance with hardware key 2FA"). Nothing in between for the curious adult who wanted to be safe and informed but didn't have time to study cybersecurity for 200 hours.

Tech-Sensei.com was built to fill that gap. The "Sensei" metaphor: not a guru with secret knowledge, but a teacher who has walked the path and can guide others through it. Patient. Practical. Honest about trade-offs.

The brand voice has stayed consistent: respectful of the reader's intelligence, allergic to gatekeeping, willing to say "I don't know" when we don't. From Noob to Ninja, one guide at a time.

Editorial values, codified. Public commitments we keep.

Won't: Pretend to be objective

Every review has a point of view. We disclose ours: privacy-first defaults, vendor-independent setups, human-readable explanations. Editorial bias acknowledged, methodology transparent.

Won't: Run paid placements

Brands cannot pay for a high score. Affiliate links transparently disclosed but reviews are independent. We rank what we'd recommend to family, not what pays best.

Won't: Sell what we can't deliver

Courses launch when ready, not when revenue pressure says so. Solutions consulting opens when we can deliver real outcomes. No vaporware.

Won't: Use AI to fake authority

We use AI tools (we review them, after all). But every Sensei Pick is tested by a human for 30+ days. Every recommendation has a human owner accountable for the call.

Won't: Sell your data

Newsletter via Loops + Beehiiv. Site analytics privacy-friendly. No tracking pixels, no remarketing, no ad networks. Your reading habits stay yours.

How Sensei Picks are scored

Five steps from category selection to published review. Same process, every category.

Pick the category

Categories driven by reader needs (top requested via newsletter feedback) + market gaps (where existing reviews are biased or shallow).

Test 5+ candidates

Each candidate gets 30 days of real-use in real workflows. We pay full price. We don't accept vendor demo accounts (creates bias).

Score on 5 dimensions

Output quality (40%), price-to-value (20%), privacy posture (15%), integration depth (15%), customer support (10%). Final score 1-10 transparent.

Write the review

Pros and cons concrete (not generic). Recommend who should buy + who should skip. Compare vs alternatives. Disclose affiliate.

Update over time

Major reviews refreshed every 6 months. Breaking news (breach, policy change, acquisition) triggers immediate update. Subscriber alerted.
